Information We Collect
Account Data
Registration and sign-in collect:
Name and email address (via email/password or Google OAuth)
Profile picture, if your OAuth provider supplies one
Language preference (Hindi / English) and exam type selection
Usage & Performance Data
Active sessions collect:
Typing test results: WPM, accuracy, error count, and completion status
Exam session data: exam ID, passage ID, time taken, and keystrokes
Practice history and improvement trends over time
Device type, browser, and IP address (used for login security and debugging)
How We Use Your Data
Create and manage your account, and authenticate your sessions
Personalise practice by recommending exam patterns and passages based on your performance
Send transactional emails (password resets, account notifications)
Improve the platform using anonymised, aggregate usage data
Meet legal obligations under Indian law
Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored on Supabase and served via Vercel. All data in transit uses HTTPS. Passwords are hashed, sessions run on HTTP-only cookies, and access is controlled by role. We delete data when it is no longer needed for the purposes described in this policy.
If a breach occurs that puts your rights at risk, we will notify you as required by applicable law.
Third-Party Services
VectorTyping runs on Supabase (database), Vercel (hosting), and Google (OAuth login). We share only the data each service needs to do its job, nothing more.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any third party for marketing purposes.
Your Rights
The Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (India) gives you the right to:
Access the personal data we hold about you
Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
Request deletion of your account and all associated data
Withdraw consent for marketing communications
Email vectortyping@gmail.com to act on any of these.
Changes to This Policy
This policy gets updated as the platform changes. The “Last Updated” date at the top reflects the current version. Using VectorTyping after a change is posted means you accept it.
